Hi Mari -- I am your Grandma Billie's friend. My name is Birgit and I live in Denver but was born in Flensburg, Germany and all my relatives are from Abild Parish, in Tønder, Denmark. Your dad and my son, Eric, are the same age and we were neighbors in Laramie, Wyoming for several years when the boys were young. Hi Birgit, So nice to hear that you are following my blog! Thank you. We went shopping just over the border in Germany, and I'm afraid I don't remember the name of it.. I know it starts with an F though!
It probably was Flensburg -- it looks pretty close on the map. What a small world it is! Are you ready for the long, dark winters? That's one thing I remember about living there -- in winter it got dark very, very early and stayed dark until 10-11 a.m. sometimes. I'm so glad you're having a good time and having this experience!
